About Carry On Consulting & Founder, Dr. Shara Schlitzberger

Dr. Schlitzberger has 20 years of experience in education. She has been a teacher and a school counselor at every level, elementary, middle school, junior high and high school. Dr. Schlitzberger earned her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication with a Minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M University in 2002. She graduated with her Master's degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 2012. She graduated with her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University in 2018. She also is a Licensed Professional Counselor and practices in the state of Texas.

Dr. Schlitzberger has seven years experience as a high school counselor at two large 6A high schools in the Houston area. In her experience as a high school counselor, she has had extensive training and attended many college admission update meetings. She has helped hundreds of students get into college, walking them through the college admissions process, from start to finish, over the past seven years. Dr. Schlitzberger also has a daughter that is currently a freshman at Texas A&M University and she has another daughter in high school, so she has also navigated the college admission journey as a parent as well, which led to more extensive knowledge and understanding of the full college admission process. 

Dr. Schlitzberger's extensive experience in her education and in career has equipped her to be an independent education consultant. She opened Carry On Consulting, LLC in March 2025. She is very passionate about helping her clients find their fit for college majors and finding the right college for them.  She is dedicated to helping students and their families achieve success. She truly cares about her clients and has a proven track record of helping students gain admission to top colleges and universities across the country.
